Code Geass 20th Anniversary Project Launched!

The Road to CODE GEASS 20th Year project, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Code Geass anime, has been announced. The first project will be a voice-over event, and the second will be the re-release of films that were previously released.

The Code Geass series will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. The first event will take place on December 7 at Bellesalle Shinjuku Grand in Tokyo. Fukuyama Jun, who voices the character Lelouch, Amasaki Kohei, who voices Rose, and Furukawa Makoto, who voices Ash, will participate in the event.

The revival screening titled “CODE GEASS 20th Anniversary Re-release Road to CODE GEASS 20th Year” begins on January 6, 2026. The theatrical trilogy “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion,” the five-chapter “Code Geass: Akito the Exiled,” “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection,” and the four-act “Code Geass: Rosé of Reclamation” will be screened sequentially every other Tuesday and Thursday until June 2026. A newly drawn key visual for the screening event has also been unveiled. Movie Ticket cards featuring the key visual are also on sale. Animate has prepared a limited-quantity exclusive set including an acrylic panel for storing Movie Tickets and 13 Movie Tickets. Furthermore, 13 types of “Newly Drawn Illustration Square Cards” are available as audience gifts, with designs corresponding to the viewed work distributed.

The release dates for the films that will be re-released have been announced.

Code Geass Synopsis

In the year 2010, the Holy Empire of Britannia is establishing itself as a dominant military nation, starting with the conquest of Japan. Renamed to Area 11 after its swift defeat, Japan has seen significant resistance against these tyrants in an attempt to regain independence.

Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student, unfortunately finds himself caught in a crossfire between the Britannian and the Area 11 rebel armed forces. He is able to escape, however, thanks to the timely appearance of a mysterious girl named C.C., who bestows upon him Geass, the “Power of Kings.” Realizing the vast potential of his newfound “power of absolute obedience,” Lelouch embarks upon a perilous journey as the masked vigilante known as Zero, leading a merciless onslaught against Britannia in order to get revenge once and for all.
